In 2004, former Secretary of the Treasury Paul O'Neil had the following to say about the FIRST National Security Council meeting in February 2001. This meeting occurred--ten days after--the inauguration and--eight months before--September 11th, 2001.
"From the very beginning, there was a conviction that Saddam Hussein was a bad person, and that he needed to go."
"It was all about finding a way to do it. That was the tone of it."
"The President saying, 'Go find me a way to do this.'"
"For me, the notion of preemption, that the U.S. has the unilateral right to do whatever we decide to do, is a really huge leap."
O'Neil said subsequent meetings envisioned peace keeping troops, war crime tribunals, and splitting up Iraq's oil wealth.
Please explain Congressional failure to hold the Executive branch of our federal government accountable for preemptive oil invasion and war mongering. It is time to Stop Being a good Democrat. It is time to Stop Being a good Republican. It is past time to Start Being a good American.
